Coaching That Helps Teens Thrive
— and Families Breathe Easier

At Back to Cool Coaching, we specialize in teen executive functioning support for students who are smart and capable — but feel stuck. Through private, one-on-one sessions, we help teens improve time management, stay on top of schoolwork, and develop critical life skills that lead to lasting success.

Whether your teen needs ADHD school support, help staying organized, or academic coaching to build better routines, our goal-driven approach provides structure, confidence, and real progress.

HOW IT WORKS

While working in various student-facing roles at a Seattle school, I noticed a teacher sitting at her desk with her head in her hands. She was overwhelmed and at a loss for how to help her student settle into a routine and schedule that was required for school. At that moment I realized there was a problem, and I may be able to help solve it. With my years of training, and education COTA/L, MSC , observation, and resourcefulness, I believed I could help students (and their parents) through Executive Function Coaching.

Helping teenagers navigate the challenges of school and everyday life is my passion, but it is YOUR story that is most important. As a parent I understand the pain points, frustrations, and struggles that come with this process. Students need someone in their corner along with their parents to support them. I can help uncover your child’s roadblocks and provide a safe space to practice new skills with continued feedback.

My Story

Hi, I'm Chris—an Executive Function Coach passionate about helping teenage students get things done based on their unique learning style and strengths.  We work together examining habits, routines and develop "systems" ensuring there's opportunity to practice (and repeat) for emerging skills. Weekly in-person meetings provide structure, space and place for reflecting on what's working and not working and fine-tuning the process.  In essence, I help them write their own success story.

How do I do this? Through my use of selective questions and cueing, I help guide self-exploration for ideas, thoughts and ways to help students design an action plan for the week. Daily check-ins ensure accountability, provide ongoing support and feedback. Practice makes progress.

Also, the act of role-playing with students (i.e., let's play the tape) is a powerful technique and can help students be better prepared for unexpected situations, building resilience.  Research shows resilience is a key component in navigating life's challenges. By blending structure with creativity, my approach is to equip students with personalized tools and strategies, while fostering a sense of mutual trust.
